In 1995, Michael D. Vogel founded MDV Resources, a consulting company focused on bringing industrial and municipal clients a more hands-on approach to environmental program management.

By 1998, MDV Resources had grown substantially with clients including several Wisconsin paper mills, municipalities and other industries. In an effort to expand its hauling and land application abilities, MDV Resources acquired the biosolids division of Aspen Services, a liquid hauling company based in Franklin, WI. The new company was called Aspen Resources, Inc. and in combination with MDV Resources began to offer comprehensive land application program management.

Today, Aspen Resources provides services clients throughout the Midwest. The company has provided customized waste handling services for 11 paper mills, dozens of municipalities and several other industries.
